How to Write a Poem
            Poem http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/poem tends to be short and try to convey
meaning in just a few words. Sometimes divided up into verses may have beat,
rhythm and rhyme. In addition, it can make a pattern or shape.
Long time ago people have been
writing poems, like in China 3,000 years ago. Famous poet including playwright
William Shakespeare, who wrote poetry in the late 1500s. Today, anyone can
write poem…even you!
The following are the steps you must know on How to Write a Poem.
- Poems are anything you want to express.
- A poem can be about a person, a creature, or the weather
- A poem can describe, for example, a sandy beach, flower blooming, the singing of the birds.
- A poem can be about feelings like what it feels like to have a perfect score in a test, or how you felt when your pet died.
        Ideas
are all around us. An idea can arrive at any time even in the middle of the
night. Even in our dreams can be a source of ideas.
Imagination
All writers try to use their imagination to invent people,
places and events. You may have never visited an old house, meet your soul mate
or talk to God but it is possible to imagine what must be like. You can also
use your imagination to bring to minds things that can’t actually be there in
front of you. For instance, you could try to imagine what is like to be deep
down in a sea or be like one of the fishes there.
Feelings
Let your feelings tell you what to write. Something might
make you feel sad, happy, annoyed, exciting or worried. Write down your
feelings and that will get you on the road to poetry.
Memories

There is also a sense of time, you can use your senses  to remember things in the past, take yourself
back to an event and try to remember the sights, sounds and smells.
Hence, it is very possible to reminisce memories and having
it write.
You’ll need a pen or pencil and a sheet of a paper or more. Or perhaps you prefer to work on a computer. Wherever you work, you will need a quiet place to work on your thoughts.
Senses
Use your sense of sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell to
help you. For example, hold cotton, flower, a leaf or a rock in your hand. Then
make notes on its texture, size, weight, color or smell. This will give you
solid material which to begin a poem.
Brainstorming
Brainstorming means writing down everything you can about a
particular subject. For instance, you have decided to write a poem about the
beach you’ve been last summer, park, or rain. Without thinking too deeply,
write down all the words and ideas that immediately come into your head. You can
draw upon those notes when you compose a poem. 
Idea Web
Another way to get ideas flowing is with an idea wed. Write
a word that represents the subject of you in the middle of your paper. Then write
as many words as you can that’s connected to the first word (topic). This may
lead you to ideas that you would never have thought.
