Tragedy and Scope of Plot
The emphasis of the elements or
characteristics of which a work is composed began with Aristotle. Plot being the representation of an
action, must represent is as unified whole (singleness of effect); and its
various incidents must be so arranged that if any one of them is differently
placed or taken away the effect of wholeness will be seriously disrupted. Tragedy,
an imitation of a noble and complete action, having the proper magnitude; it
employs language that has been artistically enhanced by each of the kinds of
linguistic adornment, applied-separately in the various parts of the play; it
is presented in dramatic, not narrative form, and achieves, through the representation
of pitiable and fearful incidents, the catharsis of such pitiable and fearful
incidents.
Tragedy
is
a representation NOT of men, but of action of life, of happiness and
unhappiness.
The purpose of living is an end
which is a kind of activity, not a quality, it is their characters, indeed,
that make men what they are but it is by reason of their actions that they
are happy or the reverse
A Description of Tragedy
Elements: Plot, Characters, Diction,
Thought, Spectacle (Stage Effects), Song
Scope of the Plot
-The arrangement of the incidents is important in
Tragedy.
-A whole has a beginning, middle and end.
-Plots must be reasonable length, so that they may be
easily held in the memory.
In Tragedy:
-The authors keep
to the names of real people, the reason being is that what is possible is
credible.
-Fear and
Pity are awaken, the effects of these heightened when things happen
unexpectedly as well as logically, for then they will seem be mechanical or
accidental.

Poetics
Poetics, an esoteric work, a
discussion of the components of a literary work (that continues to the
present day). Said to be the most important critical influences on literary
theory and criticism. Many critics and scholars mistakenly assume that the
Poetics is a how-to manual, defining and setting the standards for literature
(particularly tragedy) for all time. However, Aristotle’s purpose was NOT to
formulate a series of absolute rules for evaluating a tragedy, but to state
the general principles of tragedy as he viewed them in his time.
The Origin and Development of Poetry
-Generally, Poetry is due to two
causes which both rooted in HUMAN and NATURE:
Aristotle’s Poetics focused on the
Epic compared with Tragedy
|
Both Plato and Aristotle decree that poets must and do imitate nature,
but, Plato’s most concern is morality and while its emphasis on the elements
or characteristics of which a work is composed began with Aristotle.
Horace like Aristotle and Plato
focuses on a work’s essence, the constituent parts of a work and literary
taste, while Longinus concentrates on single elements of a text (On the
Sublime). Horace also believes that poets must imitate other poets, particularly those of the past.

Bitter Truths
"Live like we're dying" a song says it, but living is death- you can't tell what's in your mind, eat what you want or live what and how you used to. So, "I say Living is dying."

The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom
I like reading, but I don't read a lot unlike my friends. until I met Mitch Albom the author of numerous novels such the famous Tuesdays with Morrie, Five People You Meet in Heaven, Have a Little Faith and my favorite The Time Keeper (Which I already read).
The Time Keeper leave me breathless. I mean this novel of Mitch is amazing. It tells the story of three different people. Dor the time god or the father time who came to the present time of Sarah Lemon- an ordinary student and Victor Delmonte a billionaire and businessman. The story is about these people, on wants time to 'fly', the other wants time to 'stop' and the other wants the time to 'come back'.
Sarah Lemons wants time to fly. She feels like the time is so slow for her, that time is a barrier of all she wants and about to do. She is a smart high school student who fell in love with a boy named Ethan. By then, she feel like her time flies whenever he's around.
Victor Delmonte want time to stop. Despite of being a successful businessman and being a billionaire, still he can't stop time. He spent his time running huge corporations and counting money, he treats all people around him as his employee even Grace- his wife, until he was diagnosed of having a cancer. then he tought, time must stop.
Dor, use his time wisely buy counting it. he's the father time. Using pebbles, sticks, stones, water sunlight and more he count the time. he's our oldest time counter. But he was cast on a cave to learn and help Sarah and Victor about time. Dor has a wife and three children whom he love the most. But time passed and the challenges came so he and his wife need to isolate themselves, away from their children and relatives. Then his wife got a disease, by then he wish time to stop.
Now, I love reading books even more with Mitch's works.
With The Time Keeper, I learned that we can't keep time, we can't even stop, fly or bring it back but we must use its every moment wisely- with no regrets.
"What time is it?" becomes one of the world's most common questions, found on page one of every foreign language instruction book.
"What time is it?"
"Qué hora es?"
"Skol'ko syechas vryemyení?"

Have you ever imagine Miriam being our third woman president? If not, brace yourself for she might be the next this 2016.
Election seems so near to the politicians and so with senator Miriam Defensor Santiago whom was diagnosed last two months that she has lung cancer, the senator seemed to be back in fighting as she said she is ready to run this next election for President position.“I’m not going to be coy. Society leaders have urged me to seek the presidency. I can rise to the occasion, although I was following the other sign posts on the road to recovery,” senator Miriam said.
Among the leaders Santiago was referring to was Jesuit priest and constitutional law expert Joaquin Bernas, who in a TV interview advised President Benigno Aquino III against a second term. Besides citing the constitutional prohibition on reelection for presidents, Bernas, a member of the 1987 Constitutional Convention, said Aquino should “give Miriam [Santiago] naman a chance.”
“I have licked cancer, and I’m actually thinking of several career options. By 2016, I will be disqualified by law to seek another term as senator,” said Santiago, who ran for president in 1992.
The senator said, her doctors have found that the tumor in her left lung has getting worse after six weeks of medication called tarceva. (Tarceva is a pill you take by mouth once a day, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating.)
“The cancer cells are waving a white flag,” Santiago said.
Senator Miriam added that she only needs to work on her stamina now, adding that she was even able to work on the 2014 editions of some 10 law books which are scheduled for release by the end of the year.
As for the party under whose banner she will run, senator Santiago, who has always ran under her own People’s Reform Party, admitted the likely need to form an alliance with other political parties. Among them are the Liberal Party of President Benigno Aquino III, now headed by Transport chief Emilio Abaya, and the Nacionalista Party led by former Senator Manny Villar.
Santiago said Villar hinted at willingness to support her during his visit at her home. “But he also said that he is encouraging several hopefuls to raise their survey ratings,” Santiago said.
True or not that senator Santiago is willing to run for our next president, still we their 'BOSSES' have the power to be in the position. After all, we still have almost 2 years to decide if today's senator Miriam Defensor Santiago will be our third woman elected as president.

Sharing AWARENESS or Sharing WETNESS?
ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE is the hottest dare in the world. The Ice Bucket Challenge, sometimes called the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, is an activity involving dumping a bucket of ice water on someone's head to promote awareness of the disease amytrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and encourage donations to research If you read Mitch Albom's Tuesdays with Morrie then, ALS is very familiar to you. In the US, many people participate for the ALS Association, and in the UK, many people participate for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. The challenge dares nominated participants to be filmed having a bucket of ice water poured on their heads, then nominating others to do the same. A nominee only have 24 hours to comply or forfeit by way of a charitable financial donation which supports the associations for research.
Many local and international celebrities had done the challenge and still donate their money. So, are you ready to share awareness or get into wetness?

Spencerian Poem
Once Upon a Time I Love You
You know once upon a time I love you
But time flies and so with my strong feelings,
It grew weak and poor and gone then vanished
But its second chance, the change of heart flings.
"Change heart" it said "she might change his feelings,
Love you unstinting- your ultimate dream,
This is one of the most beautiful things
And you will thank me, Love! you surely scream"
"No more" (qouth I) "my time for love is dim,
To live in waiting, aspiring and past
That once am I you know at last all trim
If she change her mind and love me fast,
Faster I'll, say stop loving me"
For it is just once upon a time I love thee.

DIY: Quatrain Poem
Have you ever heard of an "Elegy Written in a Churchyard? If so, you’ve already heard a quatrain poem. Quatrain poem a four lines stanza of rhymed or unrhymed;Ballad stanza is the most common type. Lines of iambic tetrameter alternate with iambic trimeter, rhyming abcb. Choosing a subject, picking a rhyme scheme and finding words that rhyme are the steps to creating a one-of-a-kind quatrain poem.
1. The Subject

Abstract topics such as nature or emotion are often easiest to find inspiration for, but you’re free to write about anything that rings true for you. You can even tell a story, memoir, especially if your poem will have more than one stanza.

For this tutorial, we will use the dream as our subject. and "Reachable Dream" will be our title.
2. First Line
Write a line to get you started. The first line is usually the base of your poem because it doesn’t have to rhyme with anything yet so, your free to write anything on your first line- whatever pops in your mind. Of course, it can sometimes be hard to start the poem right at the beginning, so if you have a line in your head that you like the sound of – even if it doesn’t make any sense yet – write it down so that you can start writing around it. And all things follow. In our poem "Reachable Dream" I have my first line stating:
Never knew dreams reaching is hard
3. Lines to Follow
Write a line or two around your first line to give it context. As that one line develops into two or three, a rhyme scheme might even begin to develop on its own though, rhyme is not an obligatory for a quatrain poem. In our poem, I write these two lines to follow.
That it takes huge mind and heart that beats
Strength, time and sorrow I must need
4. Thinking out Loud
Read your quatrain aloud to check if it flows naturally. At this point you may need to change the amount of syllables in each line or choose different words in order to have the best possible quatrain. You may use a dictionary to enrich your vocabulary. Another good way to check for mistakes is give it to a friend and let them read it. Who knows, they might give you good suggestions.

5. Add more!
In our poem, I decided to end it up with a turn starting with a
word "but"
But God is here, so with my dreams.
HINT!
You may actually site a poem sample (like I did) for reference and outline. like this poem I derived our poem from.
I never knew following dreams could be this lonely,
But up on the hill, looking back, thank God I'm not the old
me.
If the tears will fall, let them be;
I believe this is God's plan, follow your dreams.

5. Add more!
Add more quatrains if desired or as long as you feel and like to write. You might want to set up what you’ve already written a little better by writing a new quatrain in front of it or elaborate on it by writing the new quatrain afterwards. A great way to add depth to a multi-stanza poem is to include a turn, a line starting with a word like “but” or “however” that takes on a vastly different tone from the rest of the poem so that a new element can be introduced(example: a dilemma, a question, a solution, or anything else the reader hasn’t anticipated up until this point).
In our poem, I decided to end it up with a turn starting with a
