You know once upon a time I love you
But time flies and so with my strong feelings,
It grew weak and poor and gone then vanished
But its second chance, the change of heart flings.
"Change heart" it said "she might change his feelings,
Love you unstinting- your ultimate dream,
This is one of the most beautiful things
And you will thank me, Love! you surely scream"
"No more" (qouth I) "my time for love is dim,
To live in waiting, aspiring and past
That once am I you know at last all trim
If she change her mind and love me fast,
Faster I'll, say stop loving me"
For it is just once upon a time I love thee.
